Robert (Bob) spent four years as a professional firefighter with the City of Richmond Fire-Rescue Department, before transferring to the Fire Prevention Division as a fire inspector and local assistant to the Fire Commissioner of B.C. In the following 25 years of fire service Bob gained extensive experience in building protective systems analysis, aspects of fire safety planning and fire prevention as the fire department’s Fire Protection Technical Services Officer.

Prior to retirement Bob provided five years of service as Richmond’s Chief Fire Prevention Officer. Responsibilities included managing the activities and training of a team of fire inspectors and fire investigators and development of a comprehensive fire inspection model and bylaw.

Bob has served as the Fire Prevention Officers Association of BC (FPOABC) representative on B.C. Building Code and Fire Code Advisory Committees, Fire Service Government Liaison Groups, 2010 Olympic Fire Service Advisory Group and is Past President of the Fire Prevention Officers Association of B.C.

Bob is active as a part-time studies facilitator at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) at the Burnaby Campus. He has also developed and delivered various training courses for the Justice Institute of B.C. – Fire Academy and Fire Prevention Officers Association of B.C.

After retiring from the City of Richmond Fire-Rescue Department, Bob developed comprehensive Fire Safety Plans in the private sector. 

Bob brings significant experience, dedication and motivation to the client for their fire protection, prevention and planning needs.
